The timeline that follows contains a partial list of duties to remember as well as dates and activities of interest. You will note that there is some space between dates for the inclusion of additional information as it becomes available.

 

Dec 1  Final date for State Officers, Committee Chairs, Local Councils to submit articles for MSC/IRA On-Line Newsletter.

Feb. 1 Corresponding Secretary – send information regarding the Winter Executive Committee meeting to State Elected Officers, State Coordinator, Zone Coordinators, Director of Membership Development, Publications Editors and Legislative Chair.

 

Feb. 15 Board Liaisons – contact assigned committee chairs regarding their committee duties and responsibilities. Remind them to submit to you their written committee reports for the Winter Executive Committee meeting.

 

Feb 25  Board Liaisons – Condense committee reports and submit to the President at the Executive Committee meeting

 

Feb 25  Executive Committee Meeting – The Resort at Port Arrowhead, 3080 Bagnell Dam Blvd. Lake Ozark, MO 65049, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. All State Elected Officers, State Coordinator, Zone Coordinators, Director of Membership Development, publications Editors and Legislative Chair.

 

Feb 28  Corresponding Secretary – send materials distributed at State meeting to all absent State Officers.

 

Mar 1 Form verifying Intent to Participate in Newspaper in Education Week – must be sent to State and International by March 1. (page II-21 in the Leader’s Packet)

 

HONOR COUNCIL DEADLINE (International Award)

Nominating Committee – have all nominees screened, select candidates for each office and submit the candidates’ names and vita materials to the Corresponding Secretary for mailing to the Local Councils and Executive Committee.

 

Mar 2 Corresponding Secretary -send to all appropriate persons the name and vita for all candidates for State offices plus delegate verification and election procedures. Notify members of the Board of Directors and Local Councils as to date, time, and place for the spring Board Meeting.

 

Mar 2 Corresponding Secretary – send Local Council Officers, State Council Elected Officers, State Coordinator, Zone Coordinators, publication Editors, and State Committee Chairs information on the Spring Executive Committee and Board of Directors’ meetings.

Apr 1  The Missouri Reader mailed to members

 

Apr 15 REPORT OF COUNCIL OFFICERS’ DEADLINE (International)

Complete and submit names and addresses of the 2008-2009 Local Council Officers to State Coordinator using “Report of Council Officers’ Form.” All officers must be International members as well as Local Council members. A list of all council members with at least 10-15 local council members who are also International members including name and addresses and IRA number with expiration date, if applicable, must accompany this form. 

This form will be sent electronically by International to each Local Council. Send to International prior to this deadline date with a copy to Mary Jo Barker, MSC/IRA State Coordinator – barkermaryjo@rockwood.k12.mo.us

June 18  Board of Directors’ Meeting – The Resort at Port Arrowhead, 3080 Bagnell Dam Blvd. Lake Ozark, MO 65049, 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Local council officers and/or designated Local Council representatives, State Council Elected Officers, State Coordinator, Zone Coordinators and Committee Chairs.

 

June 25  Corresponding Secretary – send materials distributed at State Meeting to all absent State and Local Officers.

 

June 25  Recording Secretary – send minutes of Spring Executive Committee and Board of Directors’ meetings to Executive Committee, Committee Chairs, Local Council Presidents and the Leadership Development Associate.
