The Best Teachers Learn from the Best Teachers

Come to the 2011 Write to Learn Conference,

"Passionate Pedagogy,"

and Learn the Secrets of the Master Teachers in the Field!

The theme of this year's Write to Learn Conference is "Passionate Pedagogy," and we have gathered together a group of speakers who exemplify passionate teaching.  And not only are these speakers passionate about teaching and learning, they are highly successful practitioners, as well.  If you've ever wanted to take that "next step" from the good teacher you already are to the "master teacher" level, this is your chance!  Come and listen to this year's unbelievable line-up of presenters and steal all of their secrets – then take them right back to your classroom and start seeing results right away!

This year's line-up of keynote presenters includes: Dr. Sharon M. Draper, former National Teacher of the Year and accomplished author and speaker; Linda Rief, a real "teachers' teacher" who has written a number of professional books and has received the national Outstanding Middle School Educator award from NCTE; author and California Teacher of the Year Alan Sitomer; Kelly Gallagher, the author of four best-selling books on teaching and winner of the Award for Classroom Excellence from the California Council of Teachers of English; and Timothy Rasinski, a prolific author of books and articles on best teaching practices, who has served as the co-editor of The Reading Teacher, the world's most widely-read journal of literacy education, and is considered the world's leading expert on teaching fluency in reading.

But that's just for starters!  We have four master teachers lined up to present full-day pre-conference sessions on Thursday, March 3rd. These speakers include Lori Oczkus, a literacy coach, author, and popular speaker who is an expert on reading strategies, think aloud strategies, and reciprocal teaching; Jeff Anderson, an authority on teaching grammar and editing in the context of real writing; Bonnie Davis, veteran English teacher, author, and expert on culturally relevant teaching practices; and Missouri master writing teacher, Tyler Carlson.

Add in 60 breakout sessions on a wide range of language arts topics, post-conference sessions by Kelly Gallagher and Tim Rasinski, an exhibit hall, a book store, autographing sessions,  receptions, and other fun events, and this year's conference is one you can't afford to miss!

We will see you there.
